We here at Jean’s Grooming And Pet Supplies want to welcome you to our shop.  We are dedicated to provide the best care and service to you and your pet.  We have served the Gainesville area for many years and strive to build a long term relationship with our clients.  We are a small shop with  dedicated employees.  You will see the same people each time you come to visit.

Lisa Holtzendorf, a Certified Veterinary Technician, bought the shop from long time founder and owner Jean Blanchard in 2006.  Jean was ready to slow down a bit after 30 years in the business. She wanted  to spend more time with her family and showing her paint horse Cowboy.   She is still grooming four days a week and is very active in the every day activities of the shop.

Please let us know when you make your appointment if you need your pet at a certain time.  Our policy is to call you as soon as your pet is finished.

Express service is available for a extra charge if you need your animal out quickly.  Must make arrangements in advance.

Health requirements

All dogs must be up to date on their DHLPP, Rabies and Bordetella Vaccinations.

All cats must be up to date on their FVRCP, FELV and Rabies Vaccination and FELV tested negative..

Grooming details

This is an overview of what our grooming services include.

Baths for short haired pets  include a brushing prior to bathing to remove loose hair and loosen dirt in the coat, toe nail trim, anal gland expression, ear cleaning,  trim hair in pads of feet, shampoo with an appropriate shampoo using the hydro surge followed by a vigorous towel dry, hand blow dry, brushing the coat again, apply perfume or cologne, to go home with a bandanna .

Baths for long haired pets include a brushing prior to bathing to remove loose hair and tangles, loosen dirt in the coat, toe nail trim, anal gland expression, ear cleaning, sanitary trim, trim hair in pads of feet and around feet, shampoo with an appropriate shampoo using the hydro surge followed by a vigorous towel dry, hand blow dry, brushing the coat again, apply perfume or cologne, to go home with a bandanna  or bows.

Partial groom includes a clip of facial hair around face and ears,  brushing prior to bathing to remove loose hair and tangles, loosen dirt in the coat, toe nail trim, anal gland expression, ear cleaning, sanitary trim, trim hair in pads of feet and around feet, shampoo with an appropriate shampoo using the hydro surge followed by a vigorous towel dry, hand blow dry, brushing the coat again tiding up coat to take off any wild hairs, apply perfume or cologne, to go home with a bandanna  or bows.  This service is for our regular grooms who just need to be tidied up between their full grooms.

Full groom includes breed appropriate hair cut or personalized style cut, brushing prior to bathing to remove loose hair and tangles, loosen dirt in the coat, toe nail trim, anal gland expression, ear cleaning, sanitary trim, trim hair in pads of feet and around feet, shampoo with an appropriate shampoo using the hydro surge followed by a vigorous towel dry, hand blow dry, brushing the coat again, going back over dog with clipper to smooth and rough areas previously missed, apply perfume or cologne, to go home with a bandanna  or bows. 

Nail trims can be done on a walk in basis, however if your dog is difficult call in advance for an appointment.

Anal Glands and ear cleanings can be done on a walk in basis.
